PURPOSE: To increase recording density on a recording medium by recording various information respectively onto the respective layers of multiply layered magnetic recording layers and reproducing the recorded information.
CONSTITUTION: For a head, the side of a slider part 12, which is formed by ceramics materials, is etched by ion beam machining so as to groove and thin film element electromagnetic conversion parts 8, 9, 10 and 11 cut out by wafer are adhered to the groove so as to form the head. The conversion part 9 is used for recording the reproducing the lower layer part of an n-th track 6. The conversion part 10 is used for recording and reproducing the upper layer part. The conversion part 8 is used for recording and reproducing the lower layer part of an (n-1)-th or (n+1)-th track 5 or 6 and the conversion part 11 is used for recording and reproducing the upper layer part. Thus, the various information can be respectively recorded to the respective layers of the multiply layered magnetic recording layers and the recorded information can be reproduced without fail. Thus, the recording density on the recording medium can be increased.
