The high-yield planting method for onions comprises the following steps of: I, in a seedling period, as the onions are relatively sensitive to temperature and illumination, and seedlings are prevented from growing too large before winter, bolting appears in advance in spring the next year through a stage of vernalization; II, seedbed preparation: selecting a parcel of rice field which is relatively high in terrain, convenient to drain and irrigate and fertile in soil, and where no crops such as green onions and garlic are planted in recent years as a seedbed, preferably neutral loam; III, grading of seedlings: selecting seedlings which are developed in root system, robust to grow and uniform in size during fixed planting; and weeding out leggy seedlings, dwarf seedlings, diseased seedlings, branched seedlings and seedlings which are too large or too small; and IV, seeding quantity: the seeding quantity is further associated with robustness of the seedlings and bolting in advance; if the density is too great, the seedlings are thin and weak; if the density is too small, the seedlings are too thick, and are easy to bolt.
